Free dream workshop: Navigating sleep paralysis night-mares

Hi Reader,

In times of change and uncertainty, one thing is certain: sleeplessness and anxiety are on the rise, and with them come sleep paralysis night-mares.

What is sleep paralysis?

If you ever have woken up and been unable to move, you have experienced awareness during sleep paralysis. While not harmful, isolated sleep paralysis comes with feelings of terror. And sometimes: visions of being held down by a stranger in the room, the dreaded incubus.

The uncanny experience is the inspiration behind dozens of horror movies (hello Nightmare on Elm Street) and even classic literature including Bram Stoker's Dracula and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Even though sleep paralysis can be quite creepy, it is also an under-appreciated altered state of consciousness that can lead to some incredible adventures, including lucid dreaming, ancestral encounters, and out-of-body experiences. In fact, sleep paralysis can even be healing.

But first, you have to develop a plan for managing unwanted sleep paralysis.

That's where my free workshop comes in!

In this workshop we will frame sleep paralysis night-mares as a natural vision state that can be prevented, managed and even cultivated if you so choose.

This free workshop teaches what I wish I knew when I was a teenager, disturbed by the confusing experiences that come with sleep paralysis visions and too embarrassed to tell anyone about it lest they think I'm losing my mind.

So let's break through those taboos.

You'll walk away with:

  • An understanding of the science, psychology and cultural lore of sleep paralysis (SP)
  • A personalized plan for managing your sleep paralysis (preventing SP as well as inducing it when you want)
  • Tactics for “riding the wave” of SP and waking up when you choose

The deets:

This free workshop is Thursday February 27th at 10AM Pacific/ 1PM Eastern/ 6PM London.

Here's the link to learn more and RSVP.

Yours truly,

Ryan Hurd

PS This workshop will be followed by a three week exploration into the extraordinary aspects of sleep paralysis that begins March 6th. If you're interested, hit reply and let me know and I'll give you a sneak peek of the course curriculum.

Hi Reader, It's been a while since I've updated you about my latest publishing project: I'm working with the dream engineers at Elsewhere.to to create the world's first smart dream journal. This is a physical dream journal that allows you to record your dreams analogue style (pen and paper) in an attractive stay-flat premium journal. And this is where it gets interesting: from there, you can snap a pic with your smartphone and upload your dream text and images to the Elsewhere app. The app...

Hi Reader, You survived my Sleep Paralysis course launch and didn't unsubscribe... Thanks for still reading ! Here's some dreamy goodness for you this weekend: If you suffer from doomscrolling, try this on: As you may know, it's difficult to be mystically inclined and engaged in world politics without fritzing out or spiritually bypassing completely. It's a tough balance and I have not figured this out at all. In fact, in 2017, I became addicted to my smartphone which was constantly serving...

Hi Reader, I just published a new article: Sleep Paralysis and the Weird side of Spiritual Experience. While I'm delighted by the mainstreaming of lucid dreaming and astral projection, there’s a missing piece, a bump on the onramp to bliss and transcendence. I’m talking about how so many would-be lucid dreamers and out-of-body practitioners get trapped like flies in the web of sleep paralysis. This is the initiation we didn’t ask for. But that doesn’t matter. We must go through. Isolated...
